BREAKING: Middle Tennessee lands edge transfer Kaven Call
Derek Mason adds add an edge rusher up front with ETSU transfer Kaven Call choosing the MTSU Blue Raiders
Middle Tennessee needed to upgrade the edge rusher depth this offseason and took the first step toward addressing that in the transfer portal with the addition of ETSU transfer Kaven Call.
In 12 games for the Bucs, he recorded 23 tackles, four tackles for loss and a pair of sacks. Prior to that, he spent two years at UCF, with one being a redshirt, which positions him with two seasons of eligibility left at his disposal.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds, Call fits the ideal body type that this coaching and recruiting staff has looked for at the edge position in the defense led by coordinator Brian Stewart.
Call was a highly-regarded recruit as a three-star prospect from Florida with interest especially from the top in-state programs, suggesting there is still some untapped potential with the new addition.
This team will have to replace a lot along the defensive front and edge rusher Kaven Call is the first addition via the transfer portal to help accomplish that this offseason.
