Middle Tennessee gets Central Missouri standout wide receiver Hogan Wasson
Middle Tennessee football has come alive in the portal recently after landing two commits on Thursday. Now, they get another with Central Missouri standout wide receiver Hogan Wasson, GoMiddle has learned. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound offensive weapon is coming off a great season, during which he was named a First Team All-American at the Division II level.
After losing several wide receivers to the transfer portal and graduation, the Blue Raiders needed some reinforcements to help Landon Collins and Cam Lacy.
Landing Wasson is a solid get, as he gives them another inside receiver who excels as a shifty route runner and can come down with tough catches on any defensive back.
In 22 games at Central Missouri, he caught 135 passes for 1,625 yards and eight touchdowns. He brings much-needed experience to a younger position room, while being an instant impact guy.
Wasson is a compact player, but he is built well and plays with an extremely high motor. He fits the bill of a gadget guy who can be used anywhere on the field, including screens and pre-snap eye candy.
He’s the first true wide receiver commit of this portal class and joins an underrated room with a lot of talent.
