Commit Conversation: George Harris
Matthew Dossett spoke to MT defensive back commit George Harris!
As it is, Middle Tennessee State is currently standing pat with nine known commitments for the class of 2027.
At this point in time, the guys currently in the boat are:
Joshua Echols: Linebacker
Jayden Johnson: Running back
Hudson White: Quarterback
George Harris: Defensive back
Ayden Ashlock: Tight end
Tavares Ward: Defensive back
Drew Rempel: Wide receiver
Lex Baskin: Wide receiver
Peter Hagey: Punter/Kicker
For this edition of the commitment conversation, we zero in on defensive back George Harris, who plays his high school ball in Miami, Florida. Harris pledged to the Blue Raiders back in the month of June, specifically June 11. Back in 2025, he had nine picks, 13 pass breakups, and 97 total tackles. Harris was first team all-state and first team all-Dade.
Harris has offers from: MTSU, Maryland, West Georgia, Delaware, Samford, Citadel, Eastern Michigan.
Despite being recruited by MTSU to be a safety at the next level, Harris is a jack-of-all-trades for True North Classical High.
“I play safety, wide receiver, running back, linebacker and tight end,” he said.
“MT is recruiting me as a safety.”
Harris indicated that he knew he wanted to be a Blue Raider when he hit it off and connected with the staff.
“I felt it when I met the whole staff,” Harris said.
He said he committed because of the “Love they showed me and the MT environment.”
Harris divulged that the other schools in the picture were: “Maryland, WKU, Delaware, Citadel, USF, and Eastern Michigan.”
Harris said that he has been to the MTSU campus, and that he liked what he saw.
“Yes, I visited,” he said.
“It was amazing, the love, energy, environment, and it feels family oriented.”
Harris said that he has intentions of being a frequent visitor in Murfreesboro this fall.
“I’m going to all the home games,” he said.
He went on to say that he told safeties coach Tyler Monaco and head man Derek Mason that he was a Blue Raider.
“They were very excited,” he said.
