Target Talk: Ronald Cash
Matt Dossett spoke to 2027 prospect Ronald Cash!
Offers from the Middle Tennessee State staff are being dished out to prospects for the 2027 and 2028 classes. The 2027 class is obviously more paramount to the staff. One guy to keep tabs on is Ronald Cash from John F. Kennedy in Louisiana. Cash received an offer on May 15 from the MTSU staff.
Cash made clear to me that he is a jack-of-all-trades, and plays all over the place for his high school.
“In high school I play wide receiver, outside and slot real versatile, but I also play defensive back. I will be seeing more of that this year,” he said.
Cash said that the Blue Raiders staff envisions him playing the wide receiver position for the team. Cash posted some gaudy stats for his high school at the wideout position. He was a big chunk play waiting to happen, with 18 snags for 351 yards, for six total touchdowns.
Cash said that even though he is viewed as a receiver at the next level, he was actually offered by the running backs coach, Al Poree.
“I like first he’s from New Orleans, so I have someone to understand me, not just left alone, but the high expectations for me to excel is what stands out most,” he said.
He indicated that he gets good, positive vibes from Poree and the staff. When asked about what he likes from the staff he said:
“The coaching staff’s high hopes, and just a good environment real gritty and with some coaches you may want to be around, and pick up knowledge from.”
Cash revealed that he had an early trio of offers from: Southern Miss, Troy and Old Dominion. Since then, though, he has seen his stock rise, and has reeled in offers from: MTSU, Florida Atlantic, Arkansas State, Miami of Ohio, Lamar, and Southeastern.
When questioned about who is recruiting him the hardest, Cash said: “I’ll say Miami of Ohio, Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee, Southeastern University, and Southern Miss.”
Cash rattled off the nuances of his game, giving reasons for why he is a versatile player.
“I would describe my game as relentless, being there every play, no matter if I’m blocking, scoring touchdowns, catching first downs, even special teams giving it 100 percent effort putting my all on the line,” he said.
“With all that being said, I bring a positive juice to the table, and make sure everyone around me is happy to be around me.”
Cash told me that plans to pledge his commitment to a school before his senior season, which will kick off this fall.
“I plan on committing before the season,” he said.
Prior to choosing a school, though, Cash said that he will take visits.
“I have plans on Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee, Miami of Ohio and Southeastern,” he said.
Cash is currently listed with a height of 6’1 and a weight around 163 pounds.
When you fire up Cash’s tape, you see why the MT staff views him as a receiver. He has good speed, and gets separation from defensive backs on the opposing side. It is worth mentioning that the wide receiver room at his high school is absolutely loaded.
Cash said that his role for his high school team will expand in 2026, and that he will see more action on both sides of the ball.
Cash said that he will not remain idle this Summer as his recruitment heats up.
“It’s offseason mode,” he said.
“My school does college 7 on 7 camps, and I’ll be attending some power five camps this summer.”
