Target Talk: Jalen Rolle
GoMiddle Publisher Matt Dossett spoke to 2028 prospect Jalen Rolle!
One of the calling cards for MTSU coach Derek Mason, has been his ability to coach up and work his magic with the defensive secondary. Recruiting for the class of 2027 is off and running. It is worth throwing out there that the staff also has their eyes on the horizon when it comes to the 2028 class. As we mentioned in the last target talk, “Mike” or middle linebacker Elijah Long was recently offered by the Blue Raiders staff.
Long is not the only 2028 guy being targeted by the Middle Tennessee State staff. Back on May 6, the Blue Raiders extended an offer to 2028 defensive back target Jalen Rolle. Rolle has seen his stock rise lately, and a couple of teams have entered the fray after the MTSU offer. The UCONN Huskies and the Florida International Golden Panthers have offered since the MT offer.
There are certainly some heavy hitters for Rolle. Dating back to 2025, he picked up a plethora of offers from programs like Auburn, FSU, UCF, USF, TSU, WKU and Kentucky.
It is worth mentioning that a bunch of those offers were made a year ago. Rolle mentioned to me that there are three programs that are recruiting him the hardest.
“Bowling Green, FSU and UCONN,” Rolle said.
Rolle indicated that Coach Tyler Monaco for the Blue Raiders has been recruiting him and he was the guy that ultimately offered him.
“Definitely a very cool guy,” Rolle said.
“It was a pleasure speaking to him.”
Rolle told me that he does indeed plan to visit schools in the Summer months and in the fall. He said that he doesn’t have a fleshed out itinerary for his visits.
Rolle said that he plays safety in the secondary for his high school and that MTSU is recruiting him as a potential safety in MTSU’s defensive backfield.
He said that one of his defensive attributes is his ferociousness and his intensity. He said he couples that with his ball skills.
“I am a guy who is not afraid to come downhill ant tackle and have amazing ball skills.”
Rolle lists himself at a height around 6’2 and a weight around 193 pounds.
Rolle is a guy to keep tabs on as the recruiting process unfolds.
